Products Used:
- METAhybrid® Thermal Insulated Metal Sheets (Roofing & Cladding)
- Hat Top Ridgevent (Airflow Ventilation System)
The Vision
Aspire Sports Club approached Geometric Steels with a clear goal:
"To construct an international-standard badminton court without using any artificial cooling systems, while maintaining optimal indoor comfort."
This was more than just a construction project—it was about designing a space where athletes could perform at their best without discomfort from heat or noise.
The Challenges
- Thermal Comfort Without HVAC: High radiant heat, especially during peak hours (11 AM–4 PM), was a major concern. The goal was to reduce indoor heat without relying on air conditioning.
- Consistent Airflow & Passive Ventilation: The design required 8–10 air change cycles per hour to maintain fresh, breathable air.
- Sound Dampening: Echoes and rain noise in metal-roofed courts can disrupt games. Sound insulation was a must.
The Solution
✅ METAhybrid® Thermal Insulated Metal Sheets
Geometric Steels proposed METAhybrid® sheets with a 12mm insulation layer. These sheets were used for both roofing and cladding.
- Reduces heat transfer by breaking the thermal circuit—ensuring a 7–8°C temperature drop inside the structure.
- Blocks rain noise by 60–70%, improving acoustic comfort.
- Galvalume colour-coated finish with a protective guard film for scratch resistance during installation.
✅ Airflow Hat Top Ridgevent
To solve the ventilation issue, a Hat Top Ridgevent system was installed along the entire apex of the roof.
- Supports passive ventilation—hot air naturally rises and escapes through the vent without requiring fans or blowers.
- Delivers continuous air exchange, meeting the required 8–10 cycles per hour.
- Functions as a natural exhaust system, reducing heat buildup.
